FEBRUARY 4TH WORLD CANCER DAY: EARLY DETECTION SAVES LIVES

Hello everyone, it's February the 4th, World Cancer Day.

At CEDEC International Schools, we marked the date in solidarity with the brave people battling cancer around the world. Please read till the end.

Research projects that the number of new cancer cases per year is expected to rise to 23.6million by 2030. Therefore, our school community decided to do our part by first educating our school, then the community. Our facilitator for the day was Doctor Sarah Berkely, who came to educate our pupils and teachers on cancer, different types of cancer, methods of detection and treatments.

Thereafter, we went for a solidarity march with a cross-section of our students. Helpful information on cancer was printed and distributed around the community. Thereafter, we encouraged everyone to get tested, as our slogan for the day was "Early Detection Saves Lives".

Our students expressed their understanding of cancer creatively, in poetry, drawings, written articles, and others. More pictures of these will be shared on the blog within the week.

It was an interesting way to sensitise the community about cancer popular misconceptions surrounding it, and we are glad we can share our day with you.
Please join us in the comments section, by sharing with us what you know about cancer and how you marked this date.

Till our next post, have a wonderful day.

  3. I got to know a lot about cancer today, and I'm glad I witnessed the outing. My heart goes out to people who out of ignorance have become cancer patients out there. I pray for the Lord's healing upon their lives. Thanks CEDEC international for marking a day like this.

  5. It was awesome being an eye to those who cannnot see through theirs. imagine a man telling me i cannot get cancer in this twenty first century, i loved his optimism but i still remembered that even medical doctors die of cancer. The answer is early detection via regular screening. Thank you, i pray for a more wider audience. thank you CEDEC INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL.

  10. https://www.drpriyatiwari.com/ An uncontrolled growth and spread of body cells, is often known as "Cancer." Under a microscope, the black dotted cells known as nuclei are identified as cancer-cells. This identity is defined in comparison to healthy living cells that are small (black dots) with a wall-like perimeter surrounding them. The large black-dotted nuclei has no such wall.
