Hello everyone,

I hope you have enjoyed a lovely summer holiday, and I welcome you to a new school term and year.

Bulletin Board decoration by one of our educators - Mrs. Y. Akinloye

The theme for this term is A Positive Mindset Equals Positive Results. As a school, we are ready for a new year of learning, challenges and a fun learning experience. Therefore, we have kicked off the term on a high note and we welcome you for a smooth ride with us.

COVID-19 Safety Measures:

While we pray for a return to normalcy nationally and globally, we would maintain strict adherence to our three systems of control:

·       Good hand and respiratory hygiene

·       Appropriate cleaning regimens around the school

·  Age appropriate face coverings for all members of the school community

Please partner with us in keeping the school safe.

Fruit and Water Days:

To encourage a healthy lifestyle, we have our Water Days and Fruit Days.  Find details of this on the school's information sytem. Let's live healthy together.

Competitions:

Our students participating in the BIEA STEM competition in London

We have some competitions in school, nationally, and globally this term. We encourage all our children’s participation. Visit the events calendar on the portal for more information.

Clubs and Sporting Activities:

Self-defence classes in progress

Some activity clubs will commence this week with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols. Please note that every child in school is expected to belong to at least one indoor club, and one outdoor club. Kindly request the exemption form if your child is unable to participate due to medical reasons. The list of clubs are contained in the school bill.

International Trip:

Our children on an educational tour to the United Kingdom

Kindly request the International Trip Forms from the school office for more details on our educational tours this year. For more information, please contact us via email or phonecall.

New Students:

We welcome our new pupils/students and their parents to the CEDEC Family. Thank you for joining us, and we encourage you to communicate any expectations, ideas or suggestions with us via email, phone call or the school’s suggestion box in the reception. Please ensure all registration documents are submitted to enable our children commence their Blended Learning.

Pick-up and Drop-off:

Please drop off your child at the school gate by 8am and pick up at the gate by 2pm from next week. As punctuality is one of our core values, it is necessary we demonstrate this value to our children. Children who are late in the morning will be required to sign a lateness register, while late pickups after school attract a fine.

Parent-School Communication:     To ensure effective communication between the school and the home fronts, the school sends correspondence via email and the school portal. Kindly log on to the online portal to read messages and check that all your details are up to date. Find information on how to use the portal here

Secondary School Graduation:

Our Class of 2021 from the secondary school will be having their graduation this term. Specific details on this programme will be communicated with the graduating class and their parents.

School Fees: Thank you for your timely payments of our children’s fees, and we encourage your continuity in subsequent terms. Please read our School Fees Policy for more details.

School Portal:        The School Portal consists of the parents’ page, students’ page and teacher’s pages. With the parents’ page, you can view real time data for your child or children, and get a copy of the school calendar. New students’ log in details are sent to parents’ emails after the registration form has been submitted.

Social Media: As a school, we like to highlight our children and their achievements on our social media pages. However, we are aware that some parents may be sceptical about this. Please pick up our Social Media Exemption form from the school office if you would like your child exempted from our virtual media pages this term.

Finally, I welcome you once again. Remember to join us in keeping a positive mindset to attain positive results.

Sincerely,

Victoria Muorah (Administrator)
