Spring Term 2022 - The Ecosystem and I (Resumption Newsletter)

 

Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed your holiday and have taken time out to relax with family in a safe way. I welcome you to a new term themed The Ecosystem and I filled with new learning experiences.

 Given the prevalence of the Omicron variant, we understand that there are a few adjustments, but the important thing is that we play our part to keep ourselves, family, friends and the school community safe. Please remember to complete a copy of the school Wellness Pledge if you have not already done this.

I welcome our new pupils/students and their parents to the CEDEC Family. Thank you for joining us, and we encourage you to communicate any expectations, ideas or suggestions with us via email, the school portal or phone call. Outlined below are some pointers to guide us through this eventful term.

Events: This term, we have quite a number of colourful events (taking COVID-19 protocols into consideration). Please follow these events and their dates via the school events calendar on the portal to ensure maximum participation for our children.

COBIS Competitions: As a member of the Council of British International Schools, we will be participating in some exciting competitions this term in various subject areas that include Film making, Science, Mathematics, Coding, Arts, and Poetry.  We implore our students to look out for these dates this term and participate. 

External Examination Preparatory Classes: Please be informed that our Examination Preparatory Classes for Years 9 and 12 students has commenced. Attendance for the above named classes is mandatory.

Social Media: As a school, we like to highlight our children and their achievements on our social media pages. Remember that our Social Media Exemption form is available at the school office. Be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook, @CEDECInternationalSchoolsLekki on both platforms. 

Music and Instrumental club

Instrumental classes have begun at the music club. Please ensure that if your child is a member of this club, that they have their instrument with them on the Club Days (Tuesdays). 

Authorised absences: As detailed in our Attendance policy, if your child has an authorized absence, please allow them to access their school learning, via their page on the portal. The class teacher will have their works uploaded for them to access.
