It has been a wholesome
feeling having our children with us in the first half of the summer term themed
Make a Positive Difference. We have had a fantastic and fun-filled first
half. This term is our promotional term and thus has fewer competitions and
events than previous terms. However, we applaud our children that have
participated in events and competitions so far. The Mid-term examinations have
been concluded today, and the results will be published on the school portal by
Friday, the 17th of June, 2022. We vacate today for the Mid-Term
break to resume on Tuesday, 14th
June, 2022. Here is a sneak peek into what we have been up to all term.
COVID
– 19: Things seem to finally be settling down a bit
and we can hopefully look forward to getting back to a more of a normal way of
living. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for all of your
efforts in keeping the children and staff within the school community. While we
await further guidance, we will continue to observe the wearing of facemasks
and shields inside the school building.
Behaviour Honour Roll: We celebrate the following children for
outstanding behaviour this half term.

Induction, OMEP Children’s Day, Kindergarten Tea Party, Online Safety Week and
the Parents’ Forum. We appreciate you for your support, and we look forward to
the events in the second half.
Examination Preparatory Classes: Examinations and Examination Preparatory

and they will be in school on Saturday, 11th of June, 2022. However, the school will be closed on Monday,

Library User of The Week: This is based on the following criteria: Number of daily visits to the library, code of conduct, book usage and timely return of borrowed books.
Personal
Grooming: In CEDEC International Schools,
neatness is priority. We celebrate the following children for their hygiene and
neat appearance.
Graduation: Our Graduation events for the kindergarten, primary and secondary schools comes up soon. Specific information regarding these days will be sent to parents of graduating
students to help them prepare appropriately.
International Boy Child Day: The International Boy Child Day was on the 16th of May, and it was dedicated to our boys and their wellbeing. We are thankful to our parent – Pastor Adepoju who took the time out to speak with our secondary school boys about things they need in order to be happy, healthy and valued leaders in the society.
Online Platforms: The School has
various virtual platforms that include our school portal, Instagram and
Facebook pages, the school Blog, and website.
The Portal has the parents’ page, the child’s page and the teacher’s
page. Please be sure to log in regularly from your parent’s page, and ensure
the children log in daily on their pages to get the best use. The Blog contains
updated information on happenings in the school, and we would like you to visit
it at www.cedecinternationalschools.blogspot.com for a more detailed version of
this newsletter. Also, if you would like your child exempted from any of these
platforms, please pick up the Social Media Exemption form from the school.
Parents’ Forum: Our Parents Forum event was a success, and we
thank you for completing the feedback form via email. Our sincere appreciation
goes out to our parents who were members of the planning committee. We look
forward to another successful event next year.
Sports and Swimming: Our sport activities this term were in full swing. Try-outs are ongoing to select members for the football team and the swim team for the primary and secondary school against the next session.
Staff Continuous Development Programme: During the recent professional development days, our staff received detailed trainings on Effective Learner Outcomes, Professional Attitude, Child Behaviour Management, Ideal Childcare Behaviour and The Hidden Curriculum. We look forward to the implementation of all we have learned in the education for our children.
In the meantime, kindly ensure our children
complete their assignments/projects over the holidays and remember our theme
for the Summer Term, which is “Make a
Positive Difference”.
