Hello
everyone,
We
would like to share some relevant information about the COVID-19 pandemic with
our children.
Please note that this information is adapted from the CENTRE FOR DISEASE CONTROL (CDC).
Please keep reading...
Firstly, let us find out what the COVID-19 virus is

The
COVID-19 is the short form for the corona virus disease 2019. This virus has
caused people to be sick, and while the doctors believe that some people who
contract it will get better, others might feel very sick. However, don't panic,
as scientists and doctors are working round the clock to ensure that they put
an end to the virus spread.
How do I avoid contracting or spreading the COVID-19

If you have to cough or sneeze,
please do it into a tissue or your elbow. If you choose to use a tissue, throw
it into the trash immediately.
Next we should practice keeping our hands away
for our face, particularly our eyes, nose and mouth. This will help prevent the
germs from going into your body.
Also wash your hands as often as you can
with soap and water for at least 20 seconds at a time (try singing our
"Happy Birthday song twice to pass the time). These hand-washing steps
should help you: wet - lather (make bubbles) - scrub (rub together)
- rinse and dry.

Finally please stay home. The COVID-19 virus cannot
travel if we all stay indoors. We do not want to get the germs of others on us,
and we do not want to give them our germs either.
What if I feel ill, or test positive for the COVID-19?

This virus looks different with
different people. While one person with COVID-19 would manifest basic flu
symptoms, others may have a sever fever, cough, or have a hard time taking
deep breaths. Only a relatively small group of people who have contracted the
COVID-19 have got very sick, and most doctors may say children and some adults
often get better.

Finally, please do not panic, that
a person feels ill does not mean they have the COVID-19 virus. Please alert an
adult at home if you feel ill, and they will know what to do.
Till our next post,
Stay healthy and safe.
Thank you.
