THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF EDUCATION: What has education done for you?


Today, January 24th is the International Day of Education as proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in celebration of the role of education in peace and development. CEDEC International Schools celebrated this day to emphasise the role that education plays in building a sustainable society. 
Our opinion boxes were tagged with the theme: "What has education done for you"? 
These boxes were placed all around the campus, and some submissions were pasted on the board seen below:

MATHEMATICS WEEK RECAP

Mathematics for a whole week may seem like a drag, but not in CEDEC International Schools. The just concluded Mathematics week was alot of fun for our school community. The aim of the Math week in our school is to get everyone excited about Mathematics. It was a colourful week, and this can be see in the pictures below. The theme for our Math Week was "Math Eye".

TEACHING TOLERANCE IN SCHOOL

The fact is that we live in an increasingly diverse society. With the advent of technology, most children are exposed to behavioural, cultural, social, and even religious differences, as their friendship circles now span beyond their immediate environment. Therefore, tolerance is a necessary tool for them to enhance social relationships and even individual growth. 



This year, we celebrated the United Nations International Day for Tolerance (on the 16th November) by using it as a teachable moment. We also had fun with the #iTolerate challenge. Please keep reading...
