Ribbons and informative literature were handed out to parents and visitors on February 4th, 2021
The World Cancer Day was created by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) in the year 2000. It is marked every 4th of February globally, and in our school.
On this day, we hold an event or a series of activities in our school to raise awareness about Cancer, and how it impacts the world around us.
In addition, we stand in solidarity
with people who are battling this disease around the world and in our nation Nigeria.
Our activities on this day, act as a powerful reminder that everyone has a role to play in reducing the global impact of cancer. These activities (at the Lekki Campus) included a World Cancer Day Talk, which was an interactive multimedia session with our children. This was followed by the Bracelet Making Activity.
Our mini crafts supplies for the Solidarity Bracelets
Everyone in school made a Solidarity Bracelet to lend our support, and spread awareness in our environment.

Finally, worksheets were given to each child to complete at home.
We look forward to hearing all about our parents interactions with the children when they got home on this day, and the impact of this awareness in the homes. Please share with us in the comments section below. In the meantime, enjoy some random wrist photos of our bracelets.
